So Freaking Clever

Over the last weekend, we were watching hockey…what else, right? Well during the commercial break, up pops this quick, eerie ad showing an animal walking down the street with what appears to be dead birds and a caption that reads, “www.whathappenedinpiedmont.com” - that’s it. To say I was a little freaked out is an understatement. I reminded myself to check the site and find out what this was about. It slipped my mind, but then a couple days later, I remembered and went to the site. Wow.

Without giving it all away in this short post, suffice to say, this is one of the best examples of viral marketing I’ve ever seen. Clever indeed. After you visit this, consider how such a use of technology can help you, (1) introduce a new product, (2) demonstrate uses of your product, (3) allow people to forward the link to someone they know that could use your product, and so on.
