My mailbox is filled every day with loads of junk mail. Nowadays, only things that have color, pizazz or some super cool style will catch my eye. Forget the 5 second rule, this stuff has a life of about a half second with me. Bank stuff, “Open Immediately”, “You’ve Won!” and other lame pieces are immediately tossed. What a waste of money and resources! Direct mail marketing needs a revamp…and quick.
One company surprised me this past week – HealthPromotionsNow.com. To say I was “wowed” is an understatement. I had been on their website on behalf of a client – we’re trying to decide on a giveaway item for a tradeshow he’ll be at. I requested a catalog, thinking it would show up in a couple weeks. Not so, it showed up only 2 days later, by overnight carrier and was packed with 3 colorful, eye-catching catalogs and several very useful samples of products they offered. I was literally floored. Tucked inside was also a cute postcard with a business card and a handwritten note from my very own Account Representative. WOW! What a nice touch! Do you think I’ll be ordering from these folks? You betcha. Oddly enough, one of the items was what we were considering, so now I get to “wow” my client with a sample they can touch and feel!
