Sleep Marketing
Do it With Your Eyes Closed

One question I often encounter with my clients is "How often should I be marketing?" Most businesses know the answer; every day, right? Okay, so let's get back to reality - that's an impossible feat for many small business owners. So where's the balance? It's right in front of you - the Internet. Check your refrigerator - see that magnet from your mortgage broker? Sleep Marketing means leveraging technology and promo pieces so your marketing is done day or night, whether you're watching it or not. Read on, as I've outlined some things you can do immediately to increase your marketing power.

Harness the Internet

Website! Epostcards! and Emails! Oh My!
First, if you don't have a website, it's really high time you got one. While you might think it's unnecessary, consider this: according to Morpace, of the 70% of visitors that contacted a business after their internet search, 43% made a purchase with a local merchant. This number is only climbing and your site works day or night showing off your widgets. You might even decide to sell your goods online with relative ease. Please though, if you have a site, update it regularly so you keep your image looking like you really do mean business. Outdated information or yesteryear sites look like you're really not staying up with the times. Epostcards and other email correspondence are terrific ways to stay in touch with your clients and tell them about what your business is doing. Icontact.com, ConstantContact.com. MailChimp.com are a couple companies you can look into - they have templates, so setting up electronic correspondence is just a couple mouseclicks. Send an update on a new product or email a coupon, your options are limitless. Most even offer free trials.

Give 'Em  a Hand
How Little Things Pack a Punch

This will be a topic all its own in a future newsletter, but for now, just remember; if you're not giving out something useful with your business name on it, you're missing the simplest of opportunities to remind your client about you. Pens, pencils, mousepads, lip balm, thumb drives....the list is endless. There are hundreds of companies that produce these items and when you use the right kind of promotional piece, your clients will be using it and seeing your name every day.

Use these ideas and you'll find Sleep Marketing to be the easiest marketing you'll ever do! As always, if I can help you in your business, I'm just an email away.

Happy Regards!
